Our site is about 600m from the beach, which looks like this:

At least, it looks like that some of the time; the beach faces due south, and there’s nothing in the way before Antarctica, so a southerly change coming through can be quite dramatic.
The beach is steep shingle, definitely not for swimming, but good for surf fishing and fossicking. Semi-precious stones wash up at the eastern end of the beach in quantity.
