This was taken a few days ago, finally got Corfe Castle without the smog we had last time. Looks better, does it not?
We are now in France. The weather so far hasn’t been good enough to get the camera out!
We are having three nights on a camp site to acclimatise. After that, we are going to stay at the Aire de Service, which are almost free, but don’t have all the usual facilities, eg showers. Still we will be saving heaps of Euros, can spend the money on other things, eg clothes….
Today we risked a French supermarket – got into trouble at the till because we didn’t weigh our fruit and veg in advance! You can get wine for less that 2 euros a bottle, we will have to try some. They don’t have the range of ready meals that England has, so we will have to do a bit of cooking. Today we bought ready cooked Spanish tortilla – delicious. Also got some French brie, better than any I’ve tasted anywhere else. The French obviously know how to make French cheeses! The range of foods is amazing – this was just a medium size supermarket in a rural area, and they had fresh duck breasts, fresh rabbit, veal, also heaps of different cuts that we don’t have. We got some local sausages, andouilles de porc, looking forward to trying them. Cost of living seems to be about the same as England.
YUM!!!! Are you speaking much French? Peut etre que vous ecrivez votre prochain blog en francias? That sentence probably has awful grammer!!
Oh yes and I meant to ask whether that sky is really English sky? Looks very blue!!!
It is an English sky, I didn’t bing my collection of NZ skies. We have used a filter which makes it look darker.
Les andouilles – yuk! elles sont horribles. We threw them away!
