We took our trip to Belle Ile and had a coach tour – taking the van would have been VERY expensive. We had a good run around the island; above is Les Aiguilles de Port Coton.

Here’s one Claude Monet did earlier.

Another famous sight is the lighthouse at Les Poulains. This is also one for retriever fans.

Philip Plisson was there in wilder weather – anyone remember this?

Onward to Vannes, another old city with a wall around it. They used to have a lot of trouble with neighbours around here. This is in the old city.

The Chateau de l’Hermine in Vannes.

We’re on the River Loire now, among chateaux and vineyards. This is the Chateau de Saumur, above the Loire.

Another view from across the river. They seem to be pretty good about letting campervans park around here. We’re on a municipal site near Saumur just now, sitting out a damp grey day with a proper mains hookup, getting some photos processed.
On upriver next, heading towards Orleans.
