San Francisco

We have had such a good time here in San Francisco, our time has flown by, and today we pick up our camper van. We have decided to stay close by for a couple of days, we hope to find a camp site on the other side of the bridge. It’s surprisingly easy to escape from the city,  bus travel is very cheap, the bridge is situated in a National Park and it’s very rural. Yesterday we “hiked the trails” as they say, and walked from the bridge to Baker Beach. The vegetation is almost the same as we have at Birdlings Flat – lots of the same plants!

iP2014_03_1536We also did a spot of shopping yesterday, I have stocked up on three pairs of NYDJ jeans.

It’s also very cheap to eat – we can easily both eat for $20. It’s hardly going to be worthwhile to bother cooking in the camper van. We are going to have Mexican for lunch, we will share a Pork Chilli Verde which is $9.95.

People keep asking us where we are from, and you can see from their reactions that they are wondering where on earth New Zealand is! Pity we can’t say “we just beat you in the America’s Cup!”

Did you know San Francisco has two bridges? This one is the Bay Bridge. I’ve seen photos like this with the poles in the foreground, and never realised it’s a different bridge:-)

  1. I got 2 pairs for $190 total (in the sale) and one pair for $130. All bootleg. 1 light blue, one navy, one grey/blue. I was hoping to get petite but they were too short in the body, so had to get regular.

  2. Gorgeous photos. I especially like the bottom one. Glad you are having a good time. Kelby and I really enjoyed San Fran too
