
Having collected the van, bought provisions, and had a fairly fraught trip through San Francisco, we headed North. We spent a couple of nights at Petaluma to rest and do the laundry, then headed to the coast. The pic above is at Point Arena Lighthouse.
Next stop was Mendocino, a quaint little town on a scenic headland with spectacular coastline and Pacific breakers rolling in. It’s a bit of the last gasp of the 60’s, not unlike Takaka. We spent a couple of nights there, up early for dawn photos. Very chilly!

Back south now, through SF again, and on to the Big Sur coast via Monterey.
