This area is not as pretty as Constable Country, and we didn’t find a single thing in Yarmouth worth photographing. It is very run down and I doubt we will ever return. Still, we wanted to see the Norfolk Broads, and the windmills!

I have never been a fan of boats, and this looks very boring to me! We found that a lot of the windmills are inaccessible, and if you took a boat out you wouldn’t be able to land, so I guess we can give it a miss!

Like many cathedrals, this one is very hard to get at, being very much built up all around.

This was a surprise, as we didn’t know Norwich had a castle. It was built by William the Conquerer between 1067 and 1075 – it doesn’t look that old does it? The car park lift shaft is not original. It was used as the county gaol from the 15th to the 19th centuries, which seems to be the secret of these long surviving buildings – they were still useful.

Hard to know why this was designated as a Heritage Building.

It’s plainly obvious why this one was!

The third one up in the tower is For Sale – another nicely situated apartment!

This was built about 200AD to defend against the marauding Saxons. England has been invaded so many times it’s incredible. Mongrel Mob, eat your heart out!
Today we are off to Cambridge. We were there in February, but we want to see it with leaves on the trees!
Weather looks good! Is it warm?
