England – Wales Border

A couple of weeks ago, I wished I’d been born in North Yorkshire. This week, I wish I were A Shropshire Lass! I would never have thought of having a holiday in this area, but it is really beautiful, with some lovely towns.

Manchester, Chester and Liverpool

We were in Manchester in 2003, and I remember it as a scruffy place, and it hasn’t really changed. I’ve never seen a place with so much chewing gum stuck to the pavements. The weather was miserable, and as we have booked ahead to the end of August, we had to leave, even though next day was beautiful. It’s a pity there weren’t a few cygnets, would have looked more poignant:-)

I should have been born in North Yorkshire, rather than South – it’s much nicer!

We are practising our steam train photography. One thing we have realised is that they are unpredictable – we didn’t know all this steam would come straight at us!
