After such a great day in Figueres, Girona, could have been a let down, but it wasn’t. It’s a lovely town.

This is the most famous view.

But there’s plenty of others!

The bell tower of Sant Feliu Collegiate Church.

Haven’t yet discovered what this is – it looks like a monastery.

A view over the modern town.

One of the towers along the old city wall. They’ve taken the interesting step of repairing them with modern bricks, and put a staircase up inside.

The bell tower from the cathedral.

The cathedral, built in 1733.

The Catalan flag is everywhere.

The main square, Independance Plaza.

The River Ter.
There is a lot more to see in this area, but we have moved on. Yesterday we drove down to a camp site 11km from Barcelona, with a nearby railway station so we can easily get into the city. This morning we are going to make the journey. I am a bit nervous, with Barcelona’s reputation as the pickpocket capital of the world.
Did they run out of money building the bell tower?
Patience! These things can take time, you know. We’ve just been to the Sagrada Familia Church in Barcelona. Started 1882, assessed 50% complete in 2010…

The current Executive Architect is a Kiwi! I’m not saying that is why it’s taking so long…
