We have long wanted to visit Southwold with it’s famous beach huts, a mecca for photographers, and here we are!

It’s a quiet little place, with absolutely no amusements for children, not even a single swing.

If you want to buy one of these luxurious little huts, we saw a new one advertised at £75000.

Sunrise is currently 4.35am – we were here at 3.50am, after a 30 minute walk!

We were promised a heatwave for this week, and it is pretty warm, but not necessarily sunny. Good job grey skies are currently fashionable!

In some ways it reminds me of the New Zealand West Coast – it’s a bit scruffy, not really touristy, wooden houses plonked down any old where, somehow doesn’t look as if it has ever been finished.

This sweet shop is for sale, if anyone fancies a quiet life. I doubt it gets many customers!

The High Street – all the shops are now tourist shops – gifts, clothes, fancy bits and pieces. I get the feeling a lot of the houses are holiday homes.
Next stop – Dedham Vale, Constable country, another place that I at least have long wanted to visit.
