Eilean Donan Castle illuminated at twilight, Highland, Scotland, UK
Who could resist stopping off at Eilean Donan Castle? We photographed it last time we were here, but the light was kinder this time, both in the evening…

and again next morning!
Then, it was onward to Skye…

where we had one beautiful, sunny day…

although we think Skye photographs better when it’s grey and dramatic…

This is a stunning spot, but very hard to walk on the big pebbles which cover the beach. If the weather improves, we will go back this afternoon.
Tomorrow, we sail to Harris and Lewis.

Wow!
What a beautiful spot.
Skye looks lovely. It doesn’t really look like Scotland when it isn’t cloudy.
There are legendary sea monsters on the way to Harris and Lewis, so best not travel if it’s too rough.
Ah, so that’s why the ferry was cancelled! We now have two extra days here, sailing Saturday morning. We had a very rough night last night, up to BF standards! Quite a bit calmer now.

We’ve just had to turn the caravan around so it doesn’t blow over, and tomorrow’s ferry sailing is cancelled for the weather. Typical Skye !
+1 Grey and dramatic. Wow!

I hear the café on the square in Portree is quite nice.
Apparently you have been past the door of Shona’s Mum and Dad!
