OK, so we have now found another couple of quite nice towns in Wales – Llandudno and Conwy. The other towns along the north coast are even worse that the others we have seen. Who remembers Rhyl? Kate was there, with her Mum and Dad, Jacqui and Will, riding on a donkey. Vicky was there, aged 1, with her Mum and Dad, two dogs, playing on the sunny, crowded beach, we had a really good day. Vic and Caroline were there, a few years later, at the Sun Centre, having a fun time. Well, Rhyl is now an absolute dump. Unbelievable – worse than Bridlington, worse than Great Yarmouth. The Sun Centre has gone – demolished in the last couple of months. Apparently they are going to build something else, and revitalise the town. We shall see!

Telford built this (the bridge!) just before he built the Menai Suspension Bridge – see the similarities?

I want to go in the castle, climb up into those towers, and take selfies, same as everyone else!

It’s a walled town, and you can walk the walls, which we did. Very sunny for three days!

Our old friends. We haven’t had a photo for a while, that doesn’t mean they aren’t around.

Llandudno is clearly a town for retirees! Never seen so many mobility scooters, wheelchairs, walking sticks.

Of course, Colin has pronounced it the Costa Geriatrica.

The Little Tram That Could.

We are now at Castleton, and guess what, it’s raining. Looking at the forecast, I suspect there will not be a blog post from the Peak District!
I remember the photo of me on the donkey but not the donkey, or trip, itself.
