Cambridge was a complete washout – we didn’t even bother going into town, so no pics from there.

Our campsite was at Bourton-on-the-Water, a very popular village, as you can see:-)
This area is not as pretty as Constable Country, and we didn’t find a single thing in Yarmouth worth photographing. It is very run down and I doubt we will ever return. Still, we wanted to see the Norfolk Broads, and the windmills!

Hard to believe that we have been home a month already! We got home on Saturday the 26th November, and on the Monday we bought our new car.

We have been into Chch and viewed our broken city, and have been on the Red Zone bus tour, which takes you into the CBD, Cathedral Square and so on. Like anything, it’s very shocking at first, but after a couple of visits you take it for granted. We have a new spectator sport in Chch, gawping through the fence at what’s going on. Here you can see a giant crane dismantling the Grand Chancellor hotel, has to be done slowly piece by piece for the sake of the buildings beside it.

We’re still on the Monet trail, currently at Etretat. It’s a popular little town on the coast, mainly known for its cliffs and sea arches – as above.

This was taken a few days ago, finally got Corfe Castle without the smog we had last time. Looks better, does it not?
We are now in France. The weather so far hasn’t been good enough to get the camera out!

Both absolutely stunning. We had a driver and a guide to make things easy, Summer Palace was VERY crowded. We realise we should have come in April, when all the trees are out, but we wanted to be in England for spring. You can’t be everywhere at the same time. Guide told us it will be even more crowded in April. Very beautiful place, reminded me of what Kelby said about Versailles – “no wonder the peasants revolted!!!” Olympic Stadium also had a lot of visitors. Because it is so stunning, it is a tourist attraction in its own right, unlike Sydney, which no one would ever really bother to see. We have liked Beijing much more than Bangkok, we would definitely come again, plenty to see.
