Another of our photos used big, in the Vodafone shop in Barnsley. This is it. Before you ask, $375.

Our new car – the rego is easy to remember because it is such good Scrabble letters! As you can see, the weather is a nice change from that constant sunshine and bright light in NZ. At least it’s not windy. The insurance on this car is over 1500 pounds for the first year, because we have not lived in England for 3 years and they do not accept our no claims bonus from NZ. It’s an improvement on the company that quoted 4700 pounds. Rob, do you have any contacts over here who can do us a great deal? Caroline, do you check your Hotmail account?

Santa’s Grotto at Meadowhall – not a patch on Changi, is it?

We checked out the Sushi Train at Meadowhall.

Can’t tell you how delicious this was. Really tangy, lots of coriander and chilli. I didn’t think I would ever eat such raw beef, but I seem to have survived.

We have been Christmas shopping. Guess who these presents are for? I will give you a clue to the contents:-

1) EE-EE-EEE

2) Grrrrrr….

We will be walking down to the Post Office to post these later today.

  1. Good to see you got another Subaru, your NZ one is still here waiting for your return.

Regarding the christmas presents, 1) A mouse. 2) A dog. I don’t think you are allowed to send either of these through the post.

  2. I wanted to leave a comment as witty as Kelby’s but couldn’t think of anything good to say.
I had fun driving your Subaru yesterday to work although I got some very odd looks from people. I don’t think they expected a female driver over the age of 18!

  3. Yes, I check my hotmail. Rob does not have any insurance contacts in the UK (he has been gone 10 years!) but suggests:
    1. Get Stuart to insure it and add Colin as a named driver
    2. See an insurance broker – they generally ask less questions than insurance companies!

The pressie clues don’t help me, but I’m guessing they are for Charlotte and Alex.

Say hello to all the family in England from me. Hough Lane looks just as I remember! Is that really a Barnsley sky in that photo?

Our house now has a roof and the bricks go on in about a week. Very exciting! Harvey no longer had any open wounds and is slowly getting better and limping less. It is so nice to see him happy again 🙂

Love to all. Caro, Rob & Harvey xxx

  4. Kelby, wrong on both. Not a mouse or a dog.
Victoria, Your comments have made me think we should add to the ad, the fact that the car has been owned by a couple of pensioners for the last two years, then people will think (wrongly) that it hasn’t been hooned about the place by a boy racer.
Caroline, that is a genuine Wombwell sky. Glad to hear H is getting better, has he got the big collar off? Do you have a completion date for the house? Will have a look at the photos of it being built.
