Not that it’s a problem, we like Edinburgh! We had a week here, maybe three days good weather, the rest we had to find ways to entertain ourselves. We went to a couple of exhibitions, one impressionist, one surrealist. Spent time in the caravan. Went shopping. I went into the White Stuff flagship store, that was fun!

They sell mens too, but Colin wasn’t interested.

These are the changing rooms! Every one is different.

This was mine. Of course I tried on that cardi, even though it was only an 8. Didn’t buy it. I was picking up and trying on stuff I had ordered online.

Another changing room.

We already have over 60 pics from our last visit, so we had to try and find something different. This statue is broken, and the city is struggling to afford to fix it. Maybe an EU grant?

We’ve had the man in red trousers, at Llanberis, now here’s the man in yellow trousers. They really grab the eye, don’t they? Is it a Celt thing, I wonder? If it is, Colin missed his.

Colourful! Buses everywhere are so colourful these days, I’m constantly tempted to photograph them.

Edinburgh’s upmarket shopping street. Didn’t find it last time!

Look at that weather!

Edinburgh is full of interesting little bits and pieces. I offered to live here, in spite of the scary Scottish accents, but Colin prefers Llandudno, with its proximity to Snowdonia. Edinburgh isn’t really near anywhere interesting. In any case, with the weather, I soon withdrew my offer.

St Andrew Square is all dug up, and was last time we were here, but here’s a bit that’s not.

So, we were thinking of going North and completing our circumnavigation of the Scottish coast, but with the weather against us, we decided to turn back south. We are now in the eastern Lake District, where the rain is pounding down on the roof – again! Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so we will be rushing around trying to do everything. The eastern part of England is supposed to have the best weather in the next couple of weeks, so we are making our way over there.
Good thing you decided not to live in Edinburgh. According to the Inspector Rebus books, there is a lot of crime, but the city makes up for it with great pubs.
I have just re-read the whole series. It’s fun to see the places he mentions. My favourite character is Big Ger! The books come to life when he is around.
